Biography
Sarah began her journey to the legal profession early in life, focusing on becoming an attorney in high school, and completing relevant classes and internships there before embarking on higher education. Sarah began her career as a Deputy District Attorney with Jefferson County and handled thousands of criminal cases to become an experienced litigator. She has tried over 50 cases to a jury and hundreds of hearings to the Judge. Sarah has extensive experience with Domestic Violence cases in all stages, with significant additional training in this area. Her goal in becoming an attorney has always been to help people and to do so compassionately and effectively. Sarah’s transition to family law allows her to continue these ideals while bringing extensive litigation experience to individuals going through extremely difficult times in their lives.
First and foremost, Sarah wants to listen to a client to learn the specific concerns and unique attributes of every individual situation. She is a passionate advocate and utilizes her experience in litigation to determine the best path forward with each family. A client is not just a case; they are a person or persons going through a time of great turmoil. Sarah works to guide a matter through the Courts in a manner that best achieves the client’s goals. She understands the situation and applies the law and her experience for the best outcome.
Sarah works to resolve a case through negotiations with her client’s goals as a priority. She has experience in negotiations with both opposing counsel and pro se litigants – this helps to amicably resolve issues between parties to move people past this challenging time and on to a happier future. Sarah’s extensive courtroom litigation experience is fully utilized to gain the right outcome when a resolution cannot be found short of trial.

Sarah knew she wanted to stay in Colorado to practice law and focused her education here for that purpose. Sarah attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, gaining a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
Sarah then moved on to law school at the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. There she began honing her litigation skills by participating in the Student Trial Lawyers Association, later becoming Co-President. She also successfully earned a position on the National Trial team, where she competed nationally in mock trials. Her team won the Hoffman Cup Championship in her first year of competition and the Team Professionalism Award in her final competition.
