Biography
Diamond Presswood Alexander is a seasoned family law attorney who believes that the best advocates are those who lead with both skill and heart. A proud Emory Law graduate, Diamond has spent her career doing what she does best: fighting for families. From contested divorces and custody battles to modifications and legitimation proceedings, she has represented clients at every stage of litigation, including at the appellate level, and has handled alternative dispute resolution matters ranging from mediation to arbitration. She currently serves as a certified Trial Techniques Course Instructor with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, where she teaches the next generation of attorneys how to own a courtroom. In 2024, she was recognized as one of the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys’ Top 10 Under 40 in Georgia. Outside of the office, Diamond’s love of animals is nothing short of a calling. A certified professional pet groomer and owner of a doggy daycare, she has turned that passion into a thriving second venture. She is also an avid traveler, an art enthusiast, and a dedicated reader of fiction. Diamond is based in Atlanta and is admitted to the Georgia Bar and the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Family law is deeply personal. Divorce, custody disputes, and other domestic matters don’t just affect legal documents—they affect real people, real families, and real lives. Diamond’s approach reflects that reality.
From the very first consultation, Diamond believes in keeping it honest. She will tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear, because she believes informed clients make better decisions—and better decisions lead to better outcomes. There is no sugarcoating, but there is always compassion.
Rather than fueling conflict, Diamond focuses on solutions. Family law matters are difficult enough without an attorney adding to the fire. Her goal is to help clients navigate some of life’s most challenging moments with clarity, confidence, and a path forward. Whether a matter is resolved through negotiation or proceeds to trial, clients can trust that she is focused on achieving meaningful results rather than prolonging the process.
At the end of the day, Diamond’s philosophy is simple: understand the problem, protect the client, and find the most constructive path forward.
Diamond’s legal foundation begins at Emory University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2021. During her time at Emory, she was deeply involved in the law school community, serving as a Teaching Assistant for both Family Law I and Family Law II, President of the Black Law Student Association, and Director of Sub-Region I for the Southern Region of the National Black Law Students Association. She was also a member of the Emory Moot Court Society’s Trademark and Unfair Competition Special Team and the Emory Law Negotiations Team, and was the recipient of both the Rowland Barnes Memorial Scholarship and the Kessler Family Scholarship.
Before law school, Diamond earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in History from the University of Mississippi, where she served as President of the Undergraduate Black Law Student Association and was recognized as the Department of Legal Services 2016 Outstanding Criminal Justice Student.
Diamond’s commitment to education did not stop at graduation. She is admitted to the Georgia Bar and the Georgia Court of Appeals, holds a certification as a Trial Techniques Course Instructor through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and in 2024 received her Guardian ad Litem certification from the Georgia Office of the Child Advocate. She remains committed to staying at the forefront of her field through continuing legal education courses each year.
