Biography
Shannon Nichols is a dedicated family law attorney. She began practicing law over twenty years ago and has extensive litigation, negotiation, and trial experience. Shannon’s career has focused on both family law and child welfare (abuse and neglect litigation). Her background in child welfare gives her a unique perspective on family law, allowing her to navigate sensitive parenting disputes with both legal precision and compassion.
Shannon brings to every case her compassion, confidence, and deep love for the practice of law and working with clients in often difficult transitions. Shannon also has the unique perspective of having worked as a litigation attorney in New York, New Jersey, Colorado, and Washington State. Happy to be permanently home in Colorado, she is adept in all courtroom settings.

Shannon approaches every case with a balance of compassion and tenacity. Shannon began her educational journey at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Her deep compassion for others led her to major in Social Work, graduating Summa Cum Laude with memberships in the Phi Alpha Social Work and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Societies. She also volunteered with the Social Work Club, WCU Women’s Center, and Habitat for Humanity, as well as interned at Northwest Human Services and The Salvation Army.
Shannon then continued her educational journey at Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey. She was blessed to attend law school on a full scholarship as an Institute of Continuing Legal Education Scholar. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004, and was honored to join the Order of the Coif and graduate as a Chancellor Scholar. While in law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Sports Law Journal, tutored in Civil Procedure, and was Secretary of the Student Outreach Society. After graduating from law school, Shannon had the honor of serving as a Clerk for an Associate Justice on the New Jersey Supreme Court before joining a large law firm in Manhattan.
Shannon takes pride in volunteering at her children’s schools and serving as an Assistant Scout Master in a local Boy Scout Troop.
