Biography

Johnny Holschuh is a seasoned litigator with a range of experience, a calm yet fierce demeanor, and a strong commitment to serving families in the Fort Collins and northern Colorado areas.  Licensed since 2015, he has practiced in a variety of legal fields in Ohio and Colorado.  His diverse background, courtroom experience, and devotion to his clients make him uniquely suited to navigate the complexities of family law.

Inspired to practice law by a judge’s call for dedicated attorneys to even the scales of justice, Johnny graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2014, where he was a published member of the Law Review.  His first attorney role was serving as an AmeriCorp VISTA organizing and representing tenants in project-based housing.  Joining the Legal Aid Society of Southwest Ohio as a staff attorney, he then represented tenants and homeowners in high-paced, high-stakes court cases.  In 2018, he was hired as an associate attorney with the law firm of Santen & Hughes, further honing his litigation skills in various legal areas, from restraining order hearings to appeals before the Ohio and United States Supreme Courts.

Johnny began focusing on domestic relations in 2024, a decision that would allow him to work more directly with people at one of the most challenging times in their lives.  He joined Modern Family Law in 2025, moved by the firm’s dedication to providing top-notch, accessible, and supportive legal services.  Modern’s experienced attorneys, nationwide resources, and cutting-edge technology, along with the supportive team of the Fort Collins office, have exceeded Johnny’s ability to provide the highest quality representation to his clients.

From emergency motions protecting children to amicable divorces, Johnny has helped parents and spouses navigate difficult times.  The privilege of assisting families, the uniqueness of each case, and the challenge of the courtroom drive his zealous representation every day.  He strives to help his clients resolve cases amicably on their own terms, but is ready to passionately advocate on their behalf in the courtroom when necessary.

Outside the courthouse, Johnny enjoys touring Civil War battlefields and haunted hotels with his parents, as well as exploring Colorado with his brother, sister, and niece.  As a self-proclaimed chef and history nerd, he combines his two passions to cook “interesting” food for his friends from historic recipes.  He has two cats (Catherine and Lola), enjoys tabletop games, and is a passionate reader of science fiction and horror.
