Biography
Gabriel Ignacio is a San Jose family law attorney who brings a broad legal and financial perspective to helping clients navigate complex family law matters involving children, property, support, and financial security.
Before focusing on family law, Gabriel developed experience across several areas of law and finance in both the Philippines and California. He assisted litigators handling estate, labor, and fraud matters, worked alongside in-house counsel on real estate and litigation issues, and gained experience in private-client tax involving complex federal and state tax matters for high-net-worth individuals.
These experiences strengthened Gabriel’s ability to analyze complicated records, identify details that may materially affect a case, and translate technical legal and financial issues into practical information clients can understand. He brings that same careful, analytical approach to his family law practice today.
Gabriel understands that family law matters often involve much more than a single legal question. Decisions involving children, property, support, and finances can have lasting effects on a client’s future. He works to understand the complete picture before developing a strategy, helping clients focus on the issues that matter most to achieving their goals.
His approach emphasizes preparation, straightforward communication, and practical problem-solving. Gabriel seeks reasonable resolutions that protect his client’s interests while avoiding unnecessary conflict and expense whenever possible. When litigation becomes necessary, he is prepared to present the evidence clearly and advocate for his client’s position.
Above all, Gabriel wants clients to understand their options and the strategy behind their case so they can make informed decisions about their future with greater clarity and confidence.
Gabriel begins each family law matter with a simple but important question: What do you actually want to accomplish?
Family law disputes can quickly become emotional, making it easy for the immediate conflict to overshadow a client’s larger goals. Gabriel helps clients identify their priorities early and then works backward from the desired outcome to develop a focused legal strategy.
Once those priorities are established, Gabriel organizes the facts, identifies the key legal and financial issues, and explains the available options in practical terms. His background working with complex tax, real estate, and litigation matters has strengthened his ability to examine detailed records and recognize issues that could affect the outcome of a case.
Gabriel favors reasonable solutions that advance his client’s goals without creating unnecessary conflict or expense. He understands that reaching the right resolution can sometimes be more valuable than prolonging a dispute simply to continue fighting.
When litigation is necessary, however, Gabriel is prepared to present the evidence and clearly tell his client’s story. Whether working toward an agreement or preparing for court, his strategy remains focused on the outcome that matters most to the client.
Gabriel earned his Juris Doctor from UC Law San Francisco, formerly UC Hastings, where he completed a concentration in tax law.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College of California after beginning his undergraduate studies at Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines.
Gabriel’s education in law, tax, and business complements his family law practice by giving him a strong foundation for understanding the legal and financial considerations that can arise when clients are making important decisions about property, support, and their financial future.
