Biography
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Caitlin brings her Southern charm and genuine compassion to her work. After graduating from Auburn University, she found Colorado and knew immediately that this should be home. After graduating from Birmingham School of Law and starting a family, she returned to Colorado to put down roots and begin serving the people of Colorado with that compassion and tenacity.
Caitlin’s professional foundation is rooted in two decades of litigation support across family and civil law, where she played an integral role in serving her clients with compassion, integrity, and expertise. She brings a critical and strategic perspective to legal problem-solving that enhances client advocacy and pairs it with her compassion, walking alongside her clients in the most difficult circumstances.
Having personally experienced a divorce with a child, she approaches every client with understanding and care. She understands how legal issues impact families and approaches each case with empathy, creativity, and determination. Her goal is to deliver exceptional service while providing effective representation grounded in compassion, legal knowledge, and lived experience.
Outside of work, Caitlin serves as Town Councilor for New Castle, Colorado, on the Western Slope. While she has hung up her competitive running and triathlon career, she is still an avid runner and can often be found on the trails. Caitlin enjoys the outside as much as possible with her husband, teenage son, and dog, Roxy.
Interesting Facts
Caitlin’s superpower is her ability to talk with people. The first thing she does with a new client is get to know them, because the better she knows her client, the better she can serve them. Creating space so conversations flow freely helps her work with her clients to determine what it is they really want and need out of the representation.
She knows there is nothing easy about a divorce, working through a parenting plan, or dividing assets and liabilities, and that no two situations are identical. Having been there herself, her strategy is formed around the specific needs and desires of her client.
Having navigated everything from amicable divorces to high-complexity with extraordinary asset situations, each matter gets its own game plan. Her ability to come alongside her clients during this journey results in tailored representation. She works toward amicable solutions for her clients, yet is ready to protect them when needed.
Her preparedness is evidence of her meticulous research, knowing that the devil is often in the details. Her ability to explain complicated legal issues to her clients in a way that is easy to understand is reassuring and invaluable. Caitlin’s goal is provide exceptional representation with compassion, confidence, passion, creativity, and patience.
Caitlin’s education is reflective of her passion for people. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human sciences from Auburn University in 2000. While working at Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of Alabama and encountering unethical medical insurance practices, she applied for and was accepted to law school. She attended classes at night while working a full-time job to pay for school and earned her law degree in 2007 from Birmingham School of Law.
She is a graduate of Roaring Fork Leadership and the Aspen Institute’s Hurst Leadership Forum, and uses her leadership skills to serve her family, community, and her clients.
Among her many interests, Caitlin serves as Town Councilor for the Town of New Castle, Colorado, on the Middle Colorado Watershed Council Board of Directors, and on the Rifle Community Foundation Board.
