Biography
Cheri Kaser, a proud Colorado native born in Denver, began her career in family law in 1992 while attending college. She joined a small law firm led by a solo practitioner, where she spent more than three decades developing her expertise and advancing to the role of Senior Paralegal and Office Manager.
In June 2024, Cheri was honored to be among the inaugural class of Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLPs) admitted by the Colorado Supreme Court to practice family law on a limited basis. After her longtime employer retired, she continued practicing as a solo LLP before joining Modern Family Law.
Cheri is thrilled to be part of a firm that shares her passion for helping families. With over 33 years of hands-on experience, she understands the emotional challenges that often accompany family law matters. Cheri approaches each case with compassion, dedication, and deep legal knowledge—helping her clients navigate complex and uncertain times with clarity and confidence.
Outside of the office, Cheri cherishes time with her family. She cares for her mother, who is living with dementia, enjoys watching her son play college baseball, and loves spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, young grandson, and her two loyal German Shepherds. She also enjoys worship music, relaxing at the beach, and recharging through travel, and sharing her enthusiasm for health and wellness through natural peptides.

Cheri approaches each client’s case with attentive listening and thoughtful questioning, ensuring she fully understands their goals and priorities. While family law cases often follow a similar path through the court system, Cheri recognizes that every situation is unique. She takes the time to learn what matters most to her clients so she can craft legal strategies that align with their individual objectives.
Cheri believes that clients are best served when they can resolve their issues outside of court, fostering a more cooperative and productive mindset for everyone involved. However, when settlement isn’t possible, she transitions seamlessly into a proactive advocate—assertively pursuing the best possible outcome while continuing to seek common ground that helps both parties move forward.
Cheri earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology, with a minor in Psychology, from Metropolitan State College of Denver (now Metropolitan State University). Over the course of more than 30 years, she has built extensive experience in family law—beginning her career as a receptionist and quickly advancing to Paralegal and then Senior Paralegal, and Office Manager. Cheri dedicated her entire career to the same small practice and solo practitioner firm before becoming a Licensed Legal Paraprofessional (LLP). Her passion for continual learning and professional and personal growth drives her commitment to providing exceptional service and achieving meaningful results for her clients.
Cheri is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Family Law Section, as well as the Denver Bar Association, Adams/Broomfield Bar Association, and Weld County Bar Association. She also serves as a member of the Colorado Bar Association’s LLP Committee.
