Biography
Katherine West is a family law practitioner based in San Antonio, Texas. Known for her candid communication style and calm presence, Katherine helps clients navigate the often-confusing legal system with confidence and grace.
As kind as she is composed, Katherine is also a fierce advocate. She got her start in the courtroom at just 14 years old, competing on her high school’s Mock Trial Team. By the time she turned 22, she had tried over 200 cases through national-level mock trial teams in high school, college, and law school.
Before joining Modern Family Law, Katherine served as a prosecutor at the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, where she handled hundreds of felony family violence cases and successfully took several to trial. Her extensive courtroom experience means she’s unafraid to fight for her clients.
Katherine transitioned into family law to form deeper connections with the people she serves. She believes understanding the “why” behind a client’s goals is just as important as achieving the legal outcome. She strives to be both a strong advocate and an even stronger listener.

Katherine’s educational journey has spanned several different states. Katherine earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, where she graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Katherine attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate.
