Biography
Grace Detwiler is an associate attorney with Modern Family Law who understands that family law cases are never just about legal issues—they’re about people, relationships, and futures. She approaches each case with compassion and care, working closely with clients to find solutions that protect their interests while supporting the well-being of the family as a whole.
Known for her strength as a writer and communicator, Grace has a talent for turning complex legal matters into clear and persuasive arguments. She believes her clients deserve to feel heard and understood, and she takes the time to learn what truly matters to them before building a strategy. While she works hard to resolve disputes through collaboration and settlement, clients can count on Grace to be a fierce protector when conflict escalates, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are safeguarded.

Grace graduated magna cum laude from Colorado State University with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice. At CSU, she was part of the Honors Program, worked as a writing consultant and instructor at the Writing Center, and completed an honors thesis exploring gender, power, and violence in Renaissance drama.
Grace earned her J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School, where she served as an Articles Editor for the Colorado Law Review and held leadership positions in organizations dedicated to disability justice and LGBTQ+ advocacy. Before joining Modern Family Law, Grace gained hands-on experience advocating for clients at Colorado Law’s Civil Practice Clinic, Colorado Legal Services, Fortis Law Partners, and Wells, Anderson & Race LLC.
