Biography
Raised in Dallas, Anaka Adams brings a deep sense of community and commitment to her work at Modern Family Law. A graduate of SMU Dedman School of Law, she approaches every case with energy, determination, and an unwavering dedication to her clients. Her competitive spirit and passion for the law make her a fierce advocate both in and out of the courtroom.
Anaka represents clients in a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, modifications, and enforcement. Known for her adaptability and meticulous attention to detail, she ensures that each client receives personalized and strategic representation tailored to their unique needs. She takes pride in being a reliable source of support during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Zealous in her advocacy and compassionate in her counsel, Anaka is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for every client she serves.
Outside the office, she enjoys exploring Dallas’s vibrant brunch scene, attending live music events, reading, and traveling. Most of all, she cherishes time spent with her family.

A proud Dallas native and double pony, Anaka earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from Southern Methodist University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French and later obtained her Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law in May 2025.
During law school, Anaka distinguished herself through both academic excellence and active leadership. She was a committed member of Women in Law and served for two years on the executive board of the SMU Black Law Students Association as Director of Public Relations. She also held editorial leadership positions with two prominent legal publications—serving as an Assistant Managing Editor for the International Law Review Association and as the Online Editor for the Southwest Journal of Law & Equality. These roles sharpened her legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
In addition to her academic achievements, Anaka gained valuable, hands-on experience through internships and clinical work. She worked in-house with a corporate legal team, at a boutique law firm, and as a student attorney in SMU’s Criminal Litigation Clinic. Each experience deepened her understanding of the legal system, honed her advocacy skills, and reinforced her passion for client-centered representation.
