Introduction

Joanne has been practicing in civil litigation and family law in Colorado since 1998. After law school she volunteered at Colorado Legal Services in Greeley where she handled high-conflict divorce, custody, domestic violence and paternity cases. Joanne has also served as Program Manager for Metro Volunteer Lawyers’ Post-Decree Clinic Program and as a Colorado Bar Association Liaison to Colorado’s Access to Justice Commission.

Education

Joanne graduated summa cum laude from University of Northern Colorado, with a Major in English Literature and a Minor in Education. After earning her undergraduate degree, Joanne attended University of California, Davis School of Law, graduating in 1998. During her time in law school Joanne competed in Moot Court competitions and interned with the Yolo County Public Defender’s Office assisting clients facing termination of their parental rights in Dependency and Neglect cases.

Strategies

Joanne is passionate about helping families navigate the complexities of family law. Although she is a seasoned litigator with a very successful record in court and on appeal, Joanne understands that in many cases, success means helping clients protect their rights while effectively and amicably resolving disputes before going to court.

Joanne understands that family law matters can be overwhelmingly stressful time for clients, and she is dedicated to providing compassionate, caring and skilled representation in every case she handles. Joanne will always take the time to explain the ins and outs of family law and the family court process pertaining to each client’s case, while obtaining the best possible result.

Awards & Memberships

Joanne is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Family Law Section, as well as the Larimer, Weld and Arapahoe County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Denver Metropolitan Interdisciplinary Committee.

Community Involvement

Joanne tries to regularly volunteer in the community, including volunteering for Metro Volunteer Lawyers’ Post-Decree Clinic and Family Law Court Program, as well as Arapahoe District Court Walk-In Family Law Clinic.

Additionally, Joanne grew up in Loveland, Colorado and loves the Northern Colorado area. She enjoys yoga, hiking, concerts and spending time with her family.
