Biography
Born in India and raised in California, Harini Venkatesan began her practice of law in Salt Lake City, Utah after graduating from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. Harini got into family law to help people navigate difficult times in their lives, and she is committed to bringing compassion into the process. Prior to joining Modern Family Law, she has provided sound counsel to clients using the breadth of her knowledge and experience with matters concerning family law, child welfare/juvenile dependency, contract preparation and negotiations, small business practice, immigration, and estate planning. When she is not practicing law, she practices taekwondo and yoga, rides horses, and tries making new creations in the kitchen.

Harini is an excellent listener who wants to truly understand each client’s history and goals. She is committed to helping clients keep sight of their goals, even during emotionally charged moments. Her experience in juvenile dependency as a litigation attorney also allows her to have insight into sensitive issues that affect families. Her fierce commitment to bringing compassion and kindness to the process, while also zealously advocating for what is in her clients’ best interests, allows her to bring forth effective resolutions for her clients.
Harini attended New York University for a B.A. in Journalism in order to make a positive difference in the world. After working as a writer in New York City, Harini decided to go to law school to make more of a positive impact in the world. She started law school at the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She followed her partner to Salt Lake City, Utah where she graduated from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. During law school, she was an active member of the South Asian Law Students Association, the Minority Law Caucus, in addition to the Pro Bono Initiative. She also participated in the Domestic Violence Institute’s program to provide resources to survivors of domestic violence.
Harini is on the board of the Pacific Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health services and resources to the LGBTQ+ community. She also actively volunteers with Meals on Wheels to provide food to senior citizens in the East Bay. She has previously volunteered as a foster parent for the Humane Society of Utah, fostering kittens.
