Alexandra Simocko came to family law with experience as both a divorcee and a child of divorce. This gives her the unique ability to relate to people as they go through some of the toughest times in their lives. She is an experienced Bay Area Family Law Attorney who has handled all aspects of matters involving children and families. Prior to beginning her family law career, Alexandra worked with children handling juvenile defense cases as part of the New Mexico Juvenile Justice Project and working with a non-profit representing children placed in foster care in New Mexico.
Alexandra joined the United States Navy when she graduated from high school and attended Naval Nuclear Power School before serving as an Engineering Laboratory Technician for the nuclear reactor plants onboard the U.S.S. Nimitz. After Alexandra left the Navy, she attended the University of Washington and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Alexandra attended the University of New Mexico School of Law and graduated cum laude in 2016. While at UNM, Alexandra was a staff member of the Tribal Law Journal and a fellow with the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program.
Alexandra enjoys the creativity which comes along with finding the right solution to each case. Alexandra believes that each case is unique and therefore requires a strategy to suit the unique challenges each new case provides. She enjoys thinking on her feet, which is what drew her to litigation first as a student juvenile public defender in New Mexico, and later arguing motions on behalf of Santa Clara County and eventually as a family law litigator. Alexandra’s broad range of experiences allows her to come up with a unique strategy best suited to your case, and to help you along the way so you are ready to move forward with a new start when your case is complete.
Awards & Memberships
Alexandra is a member of the State Bar of California. She was the recipient of the CALI Award for Children’s Law in 2016, and the Atkinson & Kelsey Excellence in Family Law Award in 2017.
Alexandra is an active member of the non-profit equestrian organization Cevalo Riding Academy. She is also a charter member and the Board Secretary for the San Jose chapter of Active 20-30, a national organization helping young professionals develop leadership skills while serving children in the local community.
